Did you recieve the interview request immediately after the background check changed?Maybe, maybe not. Our background check is currently being processed and we were invited to an interview after that change happened...
Our background check changed to "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.", Does this mean we passed eligbilty and they wont invite us to an interview?
In theory, yes, they should start background check and ask for the medical after they give you AIP, but in fact, they often start before giving AIP.Did you recieve the interview request immediately after the background check changed?
I dont get it . Why would they start the background check if they still have doubts about he genuinity of the relationship?
Its been 10 months already. The background check will take more than that !! I thought the eligibility part is the longest one!It does not mean your eligibility is done or even started. Be happy your background check has started however though as that takes the most time.
Nope! Still in processIn theory, yes, they should start background check and ask for the medical after they give you AIP, but in fact, they often start before giving AIP.
On that matter, it's seems that ECAS is more reliable than mycic.

Use the sponsor information to login. If the sponsor is already approved, you will see "decision made" on the sponsor side. If the PA was approved in principle, you will see "decision made" on the principal applicant side. If you see that, then for sure you won't have a relationship interview.
There are 2 types of interviews incase you're not aware. If doing the inland - the landing interview is a must which is approximately 5 minutes however if they are questioning the relationship and prefer to speak in person rather than having you submit more documents that its referred to as the relationship interview.. 1-2 hours. Not to worry if you know you have a genuine relationship and some do land at the relationship interview also. Its been 10 months already. The background check will take more than that !! Well naturally i prefer to avoid the relationship inteview because its been a long time already (10 months) and i dont want to wait more. There are 2 types of interviews incase you're not aware. It was pretty much simultaneously actually. Within a day or two. My husband is from Jamaica though- they seem to interview all applicants now. Most who are successful are granted their visa at the end of their interview.Did you recieve the interview request immediately after the background check changed?

It still can go quite fast once they work on it. In our case, we got the medical request after 16 months. And finally after 19 months, we got SA, AIP and DM within 24 hours. I ordered our GCMS notes on March 8th 2017, when I got them in April (the information was still regarding the day they were requested), the notes were stating that my eligibility as a sponsor was not started, my wife's eligibility was not started,... But on March 20, we got SA and AIP. So, don't worry about the process, whatever the status says, when they will work on your file, it will go fast.Nope! Still in process
What exactly is this background check thing? Isnt it the security and criminality stuff? It still can go quite fast once they work on it. In our case, we got the medical request after 16 months. the background itself is fast, you provide the police certificate,... that's quite straightforward. But the security check will be done in collaboration with secret services, the Canadian, but they might also ask secret services of other partner countries. What exactly is this background check thing? absolutely nothing thats done during the eligibility phase... my notes have the officers thoughts and notes on our relationship... our eligibility has been in process for a bit now... itll be a while until background im sure although we sent everything upfront and medicals were passedSo basically the background check has nothing to do with the genuinity of the relationship?
