Hi everyone,

I would be appriciated if anyone gives me an advice.

Long story short.;
My family was greek citizens and move to Turkey 1976 they were Greek citizen untill 1986. I was born in Turkey 1985. When I was born I was greek a citizen too. In 1986, Greece moved our citizenships because of political reasons and me and all my family became stateless. In 32 years I have tried to get my greek citizenship back but I have never succeed .I lived all my life in Turkey. I studied Information management in Turkey and graduated in 2015. During my education I have got USA visa in 2010 and came to usa as a stateless and worked illegaly. I have done that 7 years straight. I have never overstayed in USA . In 7 years came to States every year stayed 6 months and worked and then went back aamd tried to graduate. After years I got so tired to fix every problem. being stateless is a like being a ghost. In Turkey If you want to do my profession you got to work for goverment. You have to get the goverment exam to get enough score to be appointed but as a stateles you can get exam but you have to be Turkish citizen to be appointed haha. To work in private sector you gotta be lucky as hell. Because process is too long also nobody wants to give a job a stateless person. Even not unqualified jobs. I do not know what to do anymore. I do not like to life i do not enjoy my time in life anymore, I know many people has worse problems than me. wars going on everywhere, people just suffering and more. My question is : i am in USA one more time . and I want to cross the canadian border and apply for a refugee. If I have a chance to get accepted to stay in Canada. Or what should I do?

Thanks

Do you have family members who are in Canada?

Per the Safe Third Country agreement, you can only apply for refugee status in Canada if you have family members in Canada. Otherwise you have to claim refugee status in the first safe country you reach - which in your case is the US.

To cross the border you will first need a travel visa (TRV) to enter Canada.

Also in general your situation does not sound like a valid claim for refugee status. You have absolutely no evidence of personal danger, threats, violence etc to yourself. You simply have a hard life, which is not what the refugee system is meant for.

If you were truly needing of refugee status, you would have claimed it in the USA the first chance you got. The fact you have come and gone from USA so many times shows that you are not really qualified to claim asylum.

While you can certainly attempt to get a visa, enter Canada, and then claim asylum here... I highly doubt you would be successful. Also note that if a Canadian refugee claim is denied, not only will you be forced to leave Canada but it will most likely make it practically impossible for you to ever return to the USA again.
