Hello there,
We just got our common law sponsorship application package sent out at May 15th return to us.
In the letter, CIC indicates some of the information is missing and did not meet the requirement for application.
I have two questions regarding to the letter,
1. On the document checklist, applicant's status proof was highlighted. However, on the letter, it mentions "Proof of Status in Canada(Permanent Residence Card, Canadian Citizenship Card, Canadian citizenship certificate of card, Canadian birth certificate, Canadian passport...)" is missing. From the letter, I assume the proof of status is required for sponsor, but the sponsor proof of status part on checklist was not highlighted, but the applicant's.
In addition, we included sponsor's PR card copy already. I don't know which part proof of status is missing.
One thing we're currently thinking is that CIC is asking for the applicant's proof of status.
As my parter's status expired at May 15th, at the same day we sent out the application package. We thought he would have implied status, and CIC agent confirmed with that as well.
Is it possible that CIC thinks my partner is out of status, and asks for explanation of his status?
Or something else?
2. When apply for working permit with the sponsorship package, my parter paid the wrong payment option for working permit, and is short for $55.
What we can do now to make up that $55? Should we pay $155 again, and will CIC later reimburse our other $100 payment at the first time?
Thank you very much!!!
