Lots of people waiting for background check to go into in process.It differs from VO to VO. Ottawa seems to be the fastest.

I got aor2 on may 24 and passed meds June 15 and it's still not in process. Could this be from Ottawa being backlogged?

Possible! You should keep an eye on the spreadsheets. Watch people with similar timelines as you!

Is it unusual that I have had to wait this long?

Our application was received in Ottawa June 5. We won our appeal May 9. They sent to Ottawa.
When I go online I saw Application received on June 5.
Sent us an email asking for contact email for husband on June 6.
I replied on June 8th & 10th.
Just reads In Process since June 6.
We were waiting for a requestrian for new medical & polive. Possibly new forms. I was hopeful Ottawa fast.

Auto correct. And I didn't double check. I thought I had read Mississauga was backlogged therefore some apps rerouted to Ottawa.

No.

That's 6 weeks. They have tons of applications plus likely understaffed due to people vacationing, etc. Your file will likely be at the Ottawa office for at least a few months before you get DM. You may not hear much or anything at all, I really wouldn't worry. They're working on it.

Thank you ! Just discouraging when people get bgc in progress in like 6 days at same VO who apply after me
