I am getting married soon and my husband will then apply to sponsor me. Once that is approved can I travel while waiting for my PR app to be processed?

I guess that I am just worried that when I try to come back to Canada that there might be an issue.

Just make sure you apply for PR using the OUTSIDE CANADA process and forms. Then you can stay in Canada as a visitor during the process, and can leave/re-enter Canada without risk to your application.

Ok, so as long as I apply outland instead of inland, there's no chance that I may not be allowed to come back to Canada if I visit Ireland? I will only be gone for 8 days

Entry to Canada is never guaranteed, no matter what visa, permit, status or app in process you may have. Entry is always at discretion of the CBSA officer you happen to encounter.

However you can rest assured there is a very tiny chance you would run into any trouble upon re-entry. Bring proof of the PR app in progress and you should be fine.

Just remember that if you apply Outland, you cannot apply for a Work Permit. Only Inland. Check which one is best for you first.
