I think we can apply online too. because my friends did apply online after getting approval for OINP.
Not sure why we can't apply online?

They might be from HCP stream. We can only apply through paper based application after provincial nomination.

- You must create an Express Entry profile and show that you meet the minimum criteria for Express Entry, including the requirements of one of the immigration programs it covers.

Sorry my bad, to make it for more clear, please read the following document:as per point 3, as long as you are qualify for express entry and created an express entry profile then you can apply online too.

Secondly, there are two streams as defined by CIC to accept provincial nomination application for PR;

Base stream - don't have to go through CRS score card, no 600 points are awarded, and paper-based
OINP streams: Foreign Workers, International Students With a Job Offer, Masters Graduates, PhD Graduates, Corporate Stream and Entrepreneur Stream
Enhanced stream - 600 points are awarded in CRS system, hence application are assessed through Federal express-entry
OINP streams: Human Capital Priorities and the French Speaking Skilled Worker

Current Application Status : Still Assessment.
Anybody who is still in assessment ?
My company has been re-organized in 2016 buying other companies, so I am guessing it would affect delay....

we can expect 2-3 month on average before nomination. It's only been less then 3 weeks since they closed the stream for registration.
Anyway, even 2-3 month is a huge improvement from an old system, where only pre-screening could easily take 10 months.
