Yeah, I was out for like 6 hrs and bang. I read somewhere that IP1 to NA takes between 1hr to 2weeks.

Guys, inland and US residents seem to have different progress messages for background. Don't follow regular ip1 and ip2 pattern. I spoke to someone who got ppr from March.. His pattern was like this.. medical clear, next step is to conduct background check. It was in this stage till one week before ppr, then it changed to background in progress, and then ppr came in few days. So there's no reliable way to know r10 completion.
I think the pattern discussed popularly doesn't work any more. We are also getting to see many fsw o being in NA for quite long after medical. It's being said that the status would have changed in same day, but I doubt if that would be the case. Because I guess no real time status change for ee and someone who's checking daily has less chance of missing the change.

Mine did change in a day. I signed in and saw my medical has passed and the status was "Next Step is Background check". Then, 12 hours later, it changed to NA. So it does change within 12 hours. However, it is very easy to miss! My medical passed Asia time past midnight and the status changed back to NA next day morning at 10 am. So unless you are someone like me, checking my profile every 4 hours around my estimated medical pass date, you can miss it easily!
The background check statused arent 100 percent reliable,the only proper way to check the application progress is only by ordering gcms notes or calling cic by phone
I ordered mine just yesterday. I wasn't planning to order but after a call to CIC where they gave a very vague reply about my status still being in background check in CIO Sydney, I decided to order GCMS notes. I have extensive travel history and I wanted to know the status and the lady was vague about what was checked in BGC. She said she won't know if they are checking eligibility or travel history and all she can say is that they are doing a background check.
I am on day 82 so I expect the notes to come around Day 115 or so. By then, if I get PPR, then its all good. If I don't get my PPR, at least I will know where I stand. Since I ordered yesterday, I think they will pull out the details by around Day 90 or 95 which is a good time to check the notes since most of it should be complete by then!
I am planning to order in 3-4 days (43-45 days post AOR), as my meds have passed so later then this it will be futile, as (if all goes well) PPR will come by then. Also we can always order another set if needed.

There is no way to speed it up. It takes a minimum of 30 days to process by the government. You will get it between 30 and 40 days.
I saw your previous post on background change in same day. If that's any indication of R10 completion (at least told so by many in the forum), why the person from call center couldn't confirm that? They can tell if R10 is complete. If background is in progress, that implies your R10 should be still going on!
Thats really funny!!!!!. Its like right now I am not able to detect missiles in my airpace and after marriage I will be able to detect them but wont be able to bring them down.
Not knowing that they are in airspace is much better than knowing and not able to do anything about it.
Well, we can never say for sure. It's all speculation. However, let me cut and paste the anatomy of a background check from here. In this post it clearly says thats a background check is done after R10.

Also your radar gets double power and becomes multi functional. You need to be able to detect missiles in the airspace in stealth mode. But at the same time, the radar also needs to keep a check on the mood at home base. One error in judgement and you could be sleeping on the couch. If you shoot down the wrong plane, you will be out of your home forever and your CRS will also permanently drop!Thats really funny!!!!!.
