Part Time 20 hours/week NOC 4012

• full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
• equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

I have work experience that is 20 hours/week in NOC 4012 (Teaching/Research Assistants), for a duration of 4 years 6 months. Moreover, I gained this experience while on a valid work permit, and enrolled full-time in a PhD program at my university (in Middle East).

I am aware that for Canadian Experience Class, experience gained while enrolled as a full-time student does not count. But there is no such instruction on foreign experience (or is there)?

My questions are :

1. How much does my work experience amount to, if any?
2. For creating an Express Entry profile, what should I select as my primary NOC? Can I choose NOC 4011, since I'll be looking to work in that class, having now earned a PhD.

20/30 multiply by part time work exp = equivalent full time so
20/30*54=36 months that is 3 years

2. For creating an Express Entry profile, what should I select as my primary NOC? Can I choose NOC 4011, since I'll be looking to work in that class, having now earned a PhD.
Primary noc is the one with most experience and it doesn't matter you can change your field of work anytime

Thank you. Just to be sure, and safe, when I create my EE profile, will I be safe to claim 3 years of experience?
I'm afraid if I overestimate the duration of my experience, I may get rejected.
From Aashy09 response, I should go ahead and select 4012 as my primary NOC?

Sorry for trying to seek re-validation, as I want to avoid giving false or misinformation on the express entry profile.

The work week comprised of 5 working days, plus 2 days for weekend. I was entitled to 30 days paid annual leave per year.

I'm guessing that annual paid leave does not reduce the work weeks that IRCC counts towards your experience, right? Because that would really diminish the total experience.

You can include vacation, but not unpaid leave. Don't worry about weekends, as long as you were employed and being paid, you could have any arrangement with your employer as to which days you work and don't work.
