Hi all,

Although, I have gained a lot of information on EE-PR as I submitted my application for PR in Feb and got PPR in June, I need your help for TRV about which I have very basic information.

I am applying for my parents TRV and want to know what should I answer for the question "whether your relative is a PR?" Although my passport has been stamped and I have received COPR but I am yet to make my landing and submit my COPR and PR form.

My parents would be visiting me once I land, so I have to write purpose as "visiting friends/family" although I am not there yet, am I right? In that case, they ask for an address, should I give my friend's address for now?

My father is retired and gives some part time professional consultancy so for business and job both I have to answer "No" in the application. This makes the application weak, I guess. What can be done for this? It gives no option for entering information for independent professionals, any solution for this?

Both my parents have a valid US B2 Visa on their passport. They visited US for 2 months last year. Would it be helpful in anyway, I mean having a US Visa helps in getting TRV?

Apologies for the long post. Request you to please share your views on the above.

Regards

Hi,

They must answer 'Yes' as they will visit Canada after you land.

In that case, they ask for an address, should I give my friend's address for now?
A word of caution: It must not appear that your parents are moving to Canada to be with you.

I recommend you defer your parents' visit for a few months to after you land + after you settle down a bit first.

My father is retired and gives some part time professional consultancy so for business and job both I have to answer "No" in the application.
Your dad must prove he has reasons to return to India. Has he registered his consultancy + does he pay taxes/earn an income from it?

Apart from this, your parents must prove they have a good financial situation + property/land ownership + family ties + any previous travel will help, etc

Both my parents have a valid US B2 Visa on their passport. They visited US for 2 months last year. Would it be helpful in anyway, I mean having a US Visa helps in getting TRV?
Yes, it will help.

They can also apply under CAN+ for expedited processing.

Hi Bryanna,
Can you please provide your insight? Thanks.
My mother applied for visitor visa (TRV) online. We submitted all the documents on May 29,2017 and we received the biometric letter and submitted biometrics on May 31,2017. However, when my mother provided biometrics they gave her a tracking number as if she applied paper application. Ever since, there was no update online.

On June 19 – we received a note that Visa application, tracking ID No.XXXXXXXXXXXX– Your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office Tanzania, on 19/06/2017 to the Canada Visa Application Centre. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website. Still nothing has reached the VAC center and I am worried.

MYCIC still shows no update. No passport was submitted but the above message indicates processed passport.

I hope this is an error. Any advice how I should proceed?

Hi- through email.
I truly hope I'm wrong. It seems like she has been refused and the visa office has sent a refusal letter to the VAC. Or maybe it is some other correspondence and not a refusal letter.

You can try linking her application (consider her application as a paper one)

Thank you Bryanna for your reply. How do I like her application? Also, I was wondering why not send the refusal letter through MYCIC. Is it an issue with the visa office that they consider online applications as paper one.

Thanks again!

Does her MyCIC account status show an update that Biometrics have been provided?
First, it showed that Biometrics completed. Then it changed to "We need your fingerprints to process your application". We sent them an email with bio metrics confirmation and they emailed us that they have received it. However, MYCIC still shows as below

Application status: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you. Help
Review of eligibility:
We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements. Help
Review of medical results You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes. Help
Review of additional documents The additional documents you provided are being reviewed. Help
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes. Help
Biometrics We need your fingerprints to process your application. Check your messages below for details. Help
Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. Help
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

The changes in these status updates makes it confusing. Not sure whether the visa office is considering her application as a paper or an online one.

Maybe it's best if you email + send a Case Specific Enquiry requesting the visa office to let you know the status of her application and if they require any additional documents/information to make a decision

Can it be request for passport?

Last year I had come across a few cases (from the GCC region) similar to your mom's i.e. the same message but for paper applications. They had submitted copies of their passports, not the original passports, with their TRV applications as this is allowed in the GCC region. Unfortunately, this message meant they were refused.

I would not go by the literal meaning of "processed passport" in the message. It's confusing because the 'Final decision' status still shows in progress.

I suggest you try linking her application + contact VFS/VAC to check if they've received any correspondence from the visa office + do email and send the CSE

Thank you very much for your point wise response @Bryanna, you rock. Just one small query, how do I select the option of applying under CAN+ program? Cant see any specific checkbox or option under the application for selecting CAN+.

Thanks in advance.

You can ignore my previous question on CAN+, i found your earlier thread.. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/how-to-apply-through-can-program-from-india.472628/

Thanks a lot.
