Does unemployment affect getting an eTA?

I need to apply for eTA.
I officially finished work a few weeks ago but still haven't gotten my last paycheck.

1. Do I need to write that I'm unemployed or that I am?
2. Does being unemployed deny me of getting an eTA?

Thanks

If you are unemployed you must say so, otherwise if they find out that you lie about this they could denied you entry and possible a ban, I don't think being unemployed will automatically result in an eTA refusal, but you need to prove stronger ties back to your country.

Am I considered unemployed if I have not gotten my last paycheck yet?
And how do I prove ties to the community? I didn't see anywhere where I can write this

Just to be clear an ETA is not a visa it is simply an authorisation to board a plane destined for Canada and given it is valid for multiple use for 5 years I doubt whether being employed or not has any bearing on getting approval. Think of it as more of a background or security check looking for your name being on a no fly list or whether you have some previous criminality that would make you inadmissable, being unemployed is not a reason on its own.

In applying for an ETA then assume you are visa exempt so any assessment about your reasons for travel on any specific visit would be done by CBSA on arrival so you could be employed when you apply for an ETa yet unemployed when you travel. An approved ETA is not updateable once issued in any case.
