Concept of NOC

Hey everyone, I need to understand the concept of NOC. Under my current job, i can fall under two NOCs: 0124 and 1123. But my friend said not to apply under a popular NOC as chances of being invited are reduced. Is this true? what is the concept behind NOCs?

Basically the NOC you choose determines whether you worked in a job that is deemed to be "skilled" - the concept is that any NOC 0,A,B are deemed to be skilled positions under IRCC's eyes.

So you're saying i should go with the best match NOC? How does CIC select people depending on NOC?

You should go with the NOC that matches the best your duties and responsibilities.

IRCC does not select depending on NOC, they select depending on your CRS score.
