Hello all, question is, has anyone used the online option, on the CIC website, to apply for citizenship, and is it any better than sending in forms by mail?
I read couple of threads where someone asked, and there were arrogant answers, so need this clarified please.

I plan to go the online route, once C6 takes effect in Fall, unless anyone can advise as to why mailing the app is better/preferred. Thank you!

I dont think there is a way to do this ..... where do you see the online application way?

Applications are available to download and that's it. The applications still required your original signature and required that it is submitted by mail.

I may have been mistaken, but I was following the CIC website, which allows you to create an account and securely submit applications, and check statuses:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/account.asp

You can apply online for immigration services such as applying for visas like TRV or applying for extensions. This is where you are getting it mixed up with submitting citizenship application online. You would still be able to check the status of your citizenship application after it has been submitted in the mail.

Thank you all for clearing this up, much appreciated! I see that now, just read a little more in depth, I'll prepare to mail in my app.

I wish IRCC implements the online application for Citizenship that will make things much faster and also they can deploy the workforce to do better things than processing the paper files.
