Why some cases took more time than others. I think I am in the same boat. I applied on 17 Feb 2016 and still background check in progress.

We are on the same boat. I applied on Feb 26, 2016. Background check not applicable. Have you tried call cic agent for details?

My lawyer told me a applicant with family sponsorship will be way slower than others at this moment. I dont know why....

Sure. CIC received my application on March 3rd, 2016. AOR received in April 23rd. Additional documents requested along with RPRF, biometrics page of passport and police checks sometime in October. MR on February 24th....received and passed by CIC on March 23rd. Past Saturday, BC updated to "we are processing....". ECAS updated to Decision Made Sunday.

I applied on same date, just got it today, you will get tomorrow or the next day !!

Hopefully DM and PPR rain coming and some of us will be able to enjoy Canada Day !!
