Hello!

I am the principal applicant, living in Vermont (US Citizen) and my husband is a Canadian Citizen. We are applying for me to get permanent residency from outside Canada. Sounds like the initial packet of forms was accepted. My husband got an email that said to expect that I will get an email/message through my online account about the next steps to complete the Schedule A IMM5669E. I did not get anything about this next step -- not through email or the online account where I linked my application. And, I did check my spam folder. The email my husband received said that I should receive something in five days, but it has been nearly a month since my husband received this email. I still have not found a way to contact CIC from the US and tried to do it today several times while I was in Canada, with no success - the recorded message said that they were experiencing higher than normal call volume and I had no way of getting through to a real person.

So, I decided to go ahead and fill out the form anyway to the CPC address in Mississauga, Station A. I also sent a cover letter explaining my issues. I also sent this out through registered mail and the USPS tracking site said that they had received it four days ago. Nothing has been updated in my Canada online services account yet. I know this will probably take some time to hear a response.

I am wondering if anyone else has been in this position and how has it worked out? Is there any steps I am missing or anything I should be doing at this point?

Your help and perspective is very important and appreciated!

I feel like most people, haha. They never seem to send those instructions. We also mailed ours. I was able to call and find out they had added it to our application and then we got VO transfer a couple weeks later. As for calling inside Canada, the only way to get through to a real person is to keep calling. It will hang up on you over and over. Super frustrating.

Your file is going to get transferred to a Visa Office for processing once they are done compiling documentation in CPC Mississauga - which is the Case Processing Center. Because you are an outland US app, it will most likely be processed in the Ottawa VO.

Thank you! I was ok in sending it to Mississauga, though, right and then they will send it to Ottawa?

Thanks for your help!!

question for you.. when u filed the IMM5669 the instruction on the letter tells you if you are physically mailing it in the validated name next to it has signature once u print it you have to sign it with a pen ur signature of your mailing it. now I suggest if u did not sign it please reprint another and sign the signature of the applicant and send it express to CIC Mississauga I have the address if you need it because this happened to me

After waiting for 2 months I decided to just send in the IMM5669 too to CPC-M. How they can notify the sponsor but not the main applicant is quite striking. I have never been able to call CIC while in Canada and you cannot reach them outside.

This is just a test to see how much you really want to get the PR ;) Without this forum I would have no idea of what to do and what works or not.

you need to have signed the use of representative so that if you are the one sponsoring your able to call on behave of the applicant else nobody will give u any info on the application regardless of the fact your the sponsor...

now the form im5669 if you send it in via mail I hope you signed the validated box with a pen next to the name the signature of the applicant needs to be signed if your mailing it
if ur attaching it in the online application then no need to sign it
