i gave up hope on cic .I have lost my fiancé in the process .She broke up with me .She waited for too long and she said its over . Thank you cic and Canada for making my life miserable after spending 6 years and contributing to my adaptive country .This is what I get whereas freebies come and enjoy within no time and we work like dogs .Thanks a lot for spoliling our life .I have lost interest and I have no enthusiasm towards pr or anything .I Couldn't find any meaning in life .What ever I have dreamt has been shattered . Im just one lonely sad guy

I applied Feb 10, 2016. I got BG in progress on May 22, 2017. Nothing since then. It has been over 16 months now.
What should I do???

What should "we" do... is waiting.
I would agree with your idea making new thread for overdues.

certain applicants? no but yes. Some are just bad luck being random check, just like airport. Majority of overdues are marked as "complex case" in GCMS.
certain Nationalities? again, no but yes. nationality is just one of many reason being stuck in final review. Some countries appointed as a terrorism hub are this case. Any connection to those countries would stall your process.

It seems you and I are pretty close timeline. We just passed 16 month mark, so let's wait... (and I'm biting my nails... haha)

I think if you passed the 16th month target date and the security is still in progress, you can assume that it will take at least 22 months overall to get close to DM target date. Check your GCMS notes/CIC and find out the status of your secu check.

You are not alone. My situation is even worse than yours. I lost wife in the process. By in my case she betrayed. In my latest gcms notes..Officer review: "PA indicates that he is recently in process of divorcing spouse. Married for less than 2 years, application submitted approx. 2 months after getting married. Appears to have never lived together. Docs provided from divorce proceedings appear to have been processed very quickly outside of normal processing times. Have concerns with motivation behind removing spouse from application and possible inadmissibility". I submitted our application together but my wife cheated me and was using me as means to come here i guess and see what cic is thinking. My divorce is in process (mutual concent). I spent 7 years of my life here studied, then job and thats how they are treating me. At this point i don't know what to do. I have all the proofs but unsure if i wait for cic to request anything from me or just submit an explanation letter. Anyways, if anyone have any suggestions please advise. God is great!

Guys I am in my 22nd months of processing I lost all hopes, so frustrated and angry, why some people are treated better than others, really so sorry about what CIC doing.

Last response from them was yesterday saying;
Your application is currently in the final processing queue awaiting finalization. Please note that nothing further is required from you at this time. Regrettably, we are unable to provide you with a timeframe, but rest assured we are doing what we can to process your application in a timely fashion.

Anyone applied GCMS notes and how do you assess security completed or not? I can see everything else passed and security cant see.. So dont know what is wrong with the file..

I just got my PPR in my CIC account December 09, 2015 applicant
DM on April 13,2017
Waited for PPR for more then 2 months finally went to MP office and it worked.
