Hi,
I have been employed with 4 companies(10 years) including my current employer( 2 years) and have got employment records from all my past employers in the format that CIC requires. I do not want to disclose my Canada plans to the current employer hence I asked them to provide me a letter for bank loan. The format of this letter essentially suffices the CIC requirement however it has a note " Letter is issued on written request by the employee for bank loan. The company does not take responsibility of the loan or any default in the payment of the loan". Now I have following options:
1. Upload this letter with no explanation
2. Upload this letter and explain that this was issued for bank loan
3. Do not upload this letter, instead upload offer letter, promotion letters, employ ID card, Salary slips and a letter on reference from a colleague with his visiting card. Write an explanation mentioning that I do not want to disclose my plans to the employer as this may jeopardize my job.
Any kind of help would be great as I am in dilemma now as in what option to choose.

Here is another suggestion - can you request a letter from them saying you want to apply for a visa - no need to mention which country - do they insist in writing the reason for the letter. If they can write visa in the letter - it is very generic and can really mean PR visa or any visa.

Worst case, if you dont want to request another letter - I think what you have is fine. I would write a LOE mentioning the truth that you dont want to mention the real reason since it is your current employer and attach what you have. I am sure CIC will understand.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I am in the same situation.. The situation I can not go to my current HR or manager and tell them that I am planning to move to Canada, this will impact my bonus and perks in the upcoming appraisal. So, I asked a senior colleague to issue it and got it notarized. In this case what should I mention in my LOE. Can you please let me know the sentences i should write?
