They returned my wife's application package and all the photos we submitted a week and half after we submitted passport.
No reason given. This is freaking me out. I was expecting my wife's passport to have her visa placed.

I've googled everywhere can't find anything.

thanks for that reassurance. A single sentence from them would have been nice as to why they are returning everything.

It's finally over! My wife got the call to pick up her passport. We fly out next month. Just waiting on Vietnam and Canadian passport for my son. Canadian passport takes a month to receive even though it's a limited validity passport.

Very excited. Just 1 more month to go. What are some landing questions they might ask at Pearson airport?

ImABule wrote a little review about his wife landing experience in Pearson airport. Maybe it can help you to figure it out. ( p. 900 in this tread )

" My wife and I flew to Canada together and when we got to Pearson after following the long queue to customs, I went through the Canadian line and my wife proceeded to the "all other passports" line. When my wife reached the counter they wrote a bunch of stuff on her declaration card that neither of us understood. The officer asked my wife a few questions like what food items she had as we packed a whole lot of Indonesian instant coffee and tea so she declared she had food items on her card. She then put a squiggly line through the visa in my wife's passport and stamped the entry stamp with date on a separate page. As she came through the customs area past the desks on the left where another officer asks to see your declaration card there is a separate room for immigration. My wife and I went in there and as there was no line we were immediately called to a counter. There the officer took my wife's passport and COPR and asked a couple questions like how long we have been married, whether I was over in Indonesia with my wife, and the address of my wife's final destination. It was very easy going and then officer asked if she had ever been convicted of a crime or it she had any undeclared dependants and circled no on the COPR where it asks that. Then my wife signed the COPR and she stamped the date my wife became a PR and folder and stapled one copy into her passport and that was it! "

I hope it can help you and that ImABule will not be angry about me to having copy past his review.

Good luck every one

Congrats man!

Haven't been online in ages because I hate the new layout of the forum and I can't find the threads I had been participating in but I am happy everything is finally done for you!

Seems like our timelines are very similar - both from Thailand, filed early January 2017! At least we're not alone? It seems the medical request process is all over the map since they got rid of upfront medicals in December 2016. I don't really understand what the process is now... Starting in March 2017, Mississauga/Ottawa started requesting medicals before it was sent on to certain VOs, but not for others VOs. My thai husband's spousal sponsorship application was received January 11, 2017 and has not gotten a medical request yet. I haven't even heard from Singapore yet (no AOR2!) even though my husband's application was transferred on February 1st, 2017. But, since you didn't get yours requested, and since my husband has been waiting for 6 months without a medical request, it seems like maybe they are waiting to request the Thailand medicals until a later time and that this is the new "normal"? I was concerned to read that an application processed in Bogota, Columbia didn't have the medical requested until AFTER the interview was passed... so hoping the slow medical request doesn't indicate an interview being needed...

Thanks for confirming. We haven't got a queue yet for interview... so still hopeful they will ask for medicals soon? But concerned the no medical request after many months could mean we will get an interview in the future... How long after transferring your file to Singapore did you get an interview queue? I requested my first GCMS notes to arrive by July 13th... so hopefully I will find something out...

80% of all cases is aimed to be less than 12 months, with 20% of cases (the complicated ones) going over 12 months. So, it could still be possible to be under 12 months even with an interview (particularly for other faster VOs), but based on the Singapore's previous track record of files taking a lot longer when there is an interview involved, probably plan on more than 12 months as they can blame going over the time on the interview since "a more complicated case", and hope that I'm wrong :) But it is REALLY hard to know anything right now since we are all guinea pigs with very little consistency/uniformity, and making it hard to extrapolate and predict what will happen! Sorry! I'm in the dark with you too!
