Hello Guys,

Can you guys please let me know how many weeks/days it took for you to receive PR card after landing ?

I've received my COPR on June 9th

I was aware it takes 4-6 weeks to get the PR card after landing procedure but checking current processing times shows '57 days' which is ~ '8 weeks'

I've recently reserved a airline ticket ( Sigh, I should've not be over excited) to fly to India on August 1st,keeping in mind that I can do landing on June 17 and have exactly max. of 6 weeks to receive my PR card before I leave.

But things never work right..

I had two assumptions if i have to miss the PR card after landing before I leave canada:
Option 1: Just ask my friend ( relative) to courier the PR card to me through FedEx.
Option 2 : Apply PRTD from India to get one time entry visa

Cons of Options: Started reading ( should've done a week ago :( ) that couriering the PR card is kind of NOT a good practice according to CIC and some people say PR card's starting 2016 have RFID to easily get tracked in customs/security checks and some people say they have received it with no issues - Bottom line, take your own risk!
Applying PRTD, not much of any disadvantage but have to go through documentation pain.

Any suggestions people ?

Also, please try to answer my first question ?

Thanks in advance.

The processing time on the website is fairly accurate. Note that you need to add mailing time to that as well. Whoever told you 4-6 weeks did not know what they were talking about.

IRCC says nothing about mailing a PR card. There is no law against doing so. Like any other important document, it would be best to have it couriered.

IRCC has to mail the card to you in the first place, so I don't understand the concern about mailing it somewhere else.

Many people are under the misconception that it is illegal to mail a PR card across borders.

I see. The only requirement I understand is that IRCC must mail the card to the address on file. In other words, you can't ask them to mail it elsewhere.

Dear all,
I need your help. I landed on June 13th 2017 and I just called ircc and found our that my pr card was mailed to an incorrect address as when I landed I gave my mom's address and then changed the address when I rented a place of my own. My mom moved to a new place end of July. The new tenant that took over my mom's place received my cards in the mail and put them back in the box and wrote "moved ".
When I called ircc they told me I have to wait another 6 weeks and reapply?
Did anyone go through a similar experience?
Does anyone know how long this process will take
