Hi to all,

Is there any case that the Canadian government refuse to renew the PR even though the person holding a PR comply or meet the requirements especially the days they stayed in Canada?

Thank you in advance

Why will they refuse if the person complies all the requirements? This is Canada

We heard that Canadian government will review the in and out of the person and if most of the days they stayed outside canada there will be a tendency that they will not renew the PR.

Thank you.

Requirements are to live 2 years in Canada from the first 5 years. Of course If you live 4 years outisde they will not renew, but because the requirements, not because they dont want

Even in this scenario having PR revoked is not necessarily automatic and can be appealled if there are any unusual circumstances that caused someone to fail RO such as H&C reasons.

If someone meets the fairly generous rules then they have nothing to worry about but quite a few people push the limits and they are the ones that get the extra scruitiny which to be honest is generally self inflicted.

If the person met the requirements, then their PR card will be renewed.

If they spent over half the time outside Canada, they should probably ask themselves why they're trying to maintain "permanent" residency of a country they want to live in part-time at most, but the rules allow for 60% of the time to be spent outside Canada, so a person who spends under 60% of their time outside will be able to renew.

Canada is very generous like that.

Just to make it clear - PRs are eligible for PRC renewal as long as they have 730 days or more physically present inside Canada.

Is this correct?
