Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Hi guys, after being waitlisted for a long time in a school in Winnipeg, we just received an email containing an offer letter, right now we have already paid for tuition deposit and waiting for the LOA, the term will start on Aug 28. As I am preparing for the application for the study permit, I am so overwhelmed with which to start, I have read the checklists already, and accomplish some of the documents, I am thinking about the study plans, meal plans and accomodation plans, are all these in forms of letter or there are specific docs to fill up? By the way, we will be staying in our Aunt's house. Thanks in advance

tanong ko lang din po pla, anyone here na student na sa Alberta? how is it there po ba, like ung paghahanap ng part time jobs? mabilis lang po ba tayo makahanap and ano pong ways mag apply dyan? walk-ins? online?...winoworry ko tlaga ung paghahanap ng work dyan pagdating. I'll be in Lethbrdige Alberta and sa Lethbridge College ako....sana may mkapagshare ng stories nila..

diba kelangan na parang eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) pa apart from the permit to enter Canada?

if yes, paano makaapply nun and how long does it take to be issued that?? or is it like kasama na yun once naissue na yung study permit mo?

You either need a visa or eTA to enter canada. People from UK and US just need an eTA to enter Canada. Peoplw from Philppine need visa.

And also try to back read, mataas ang rejection rate sa AUH sobrang higpit, re-think baka pwede ka mag lodge sa pinas ng application and try the paper based, though convenient ang online based s suggestions ng mga pumasa na s UAE, paper based dw mag lodge kasi medyo madaming documentation ka issubmit at dapat notarized lahat. Kung issubmit mo yun sa mama mo , malalaman nila andito sya sa UAE, diminishing tie sa home country. Need mo din tlaga submit un savings under your name, given na OFW ka atleast pakita mo sa VO may na save ka. Kung marami ka red flags, kailangan mo yun sagutin sa SOP mo.

@hopefulheart12 @Dollycanada are the best person to ask kasi na reject na sila sa AUH twice. Baka may tips sila pwede maibigay mga do's and dont's.

Ahh. I see, actually yung sa SOP ko, nakastate na may work na nagaantay sa akin sa pinas, yung family business namin. I-attach ko din lahat ng docs about dun as assets. Ngbbackread dn ako incase may makita ako na ka-same situation ko, mej worried dn kasi mdami na nreject dto AUH. Pero ano pa ba pwd gawin?

Original plan kasi is sabay na apply kami ng husband ko, kaso papaunahin nako para daw siya ang ties ko and mom ko then sa pinas yung full time work na nagaantay sakin after grad kasi before naman ako nakapunta dito and until now ngwwork parin nman ako dun (paperwork thru emails and via skype) pinapakita naman kasi ng father ko na ngwwork prin ako dun kahit na nndto ako, with active docs just like a normal employee sa Pinas. Bale ipapakita lang sana namin na mag study leave ako sa work ko dun pag punta na ng canada? You think that is a good idea or not? And nkpgwork din sa U.S., then went home after authorized stay. Yan nkastate sa SOP ko din. And actually, naka-visit visa parin ako now. Nghhintay parin nung employment visa from the company. Inisip ko din kasi nung una, baka hindi ako mkpgapply ng student permit kasi nakavisit visa ako dito kaya ngapply ako for the sake lang tlg ng resident visa dito.

Hi guys!
Gusto ko lang po mgtanong tungkol sa pagrequest ng bank statement. I am currently in UAE, then father ko is nasa pinas. And he will be my sole sponsor sa expenses ko sa canada.

1. Saan po iaaddress yung bank statement? Is it to the Canadian Embassy here in Abu dhabi or sa CIC po?
I am planning to apply online kasi sabi nila it is faster daw.

2. Okay lang po ba if submit ko din bank statement ng mom ko (she's here in UAE too) as a supporting document? Kahit hindi sya yung mgsupport skin sa expenses ko. Pati din sana savings account ko sa pinas, hindi ba mgtataka ang VO bakit ang dami ko snubmit? Hehe.

nagbigay ng 3 bank certificates- from parents to support me for my dorm fees at allowances, taz s tita ko na dto s canada for my 2 year tuition fee at ung personal ko. wala nman sguro problema kung ilan bank certi submit mu bsta pag nagverify ang Immi may laman., ung s akin s manila ang pinalagay ko s bank certi, s pinas ako nun.

**applied w/o CAIPS yet, i tried to answer lang based on refusal reasons.

Eto refusal factors ko & yung mga points highlighted in my CAIPS:

1. Travel history : Accdg to VO, limited sa region lang ang travels ko. (I've been to SG, MY, Indonesia, HK, UAE) Noted daw na nagwork ako sa dubai before.
2. Immigration status in country of residence : Eto comment nya.. She has been in Singapore since Mar 2011, yet has not obtained permanent status here.
3. Family ties : I have diminishing ties daw sa country of citizenship. Especially isinama ko pa ang husband ko sa application. We're married for 3 years, no kids yet. I've been OFW for 10 years na. Nasa pinas ang father ko but hindi kinonsider ng VO yun. VO mentioned that I'm bringing my "entire" family, meaning husband ko lang ang kinonsider nya.
4. Purpose of visit: VO said that there are same programs in the region. "It is unclear why she would choose this program in another country at such great cost when comparable programs would be readily available in the home country of region"
5. Employment prospects in country of residence : nothing much was mentioned aside from saying that i'm on temporary status in Singapore (which is true, coz i'm holding work pass)

Sa mga OFW na mag-a-apply or re-apply, take note of these factors (especially family ties) and discuss in detail sa SOP para hindi n kayo marefuse jan sa mga yan. Sana makatulong eto sa inyo. Pero, I believe that each application is unique so it is best to get your CAIPS notes para ma-address nyo completely yung refusal ng VO. God bless us!

Re: sa educational background, if may gap ako na 1 yr in between at nag shift ka ng course kailngan pb banggitin s sop un?

Year 1 to 2 : Computer Science.
Year 3: Stop.
Year 4 to 6 : Shift to Nursing.
