Thanks Marrianne730. This may explain my concerns.. It seems like CIC process out-land applications faster than in-land maybe. I am in-land applicant, and I received my file number on April 5 2017, but I haven't heard anything so far beside the "med exam with no message" issue...

Outland applications are processed way faster than inlands. I am a March 2017 applicant and all i have so far is background check in process since April 27 with no updates yet.

My wife has the same problem, medical check requested but no actual request message. Does anyone know, do you actually have to receive the request before going in for a medical check or can we just book an appointment at one of the approved doctors? Because we're planning on leaving Tokyo in about 3 weeks time and we'd like to get the medical check done before then. Can we just do it and have it ready for when they eventually do get the request out?

You can take upfront medicals ( taking medicals without CIC request) and send out completed medical forms and results to your visa office.

As far as i heard they stopped it recently, they dont allow you to do it anymore until the request it. Im not sure if thats the case though,. couple people said it last week.

I talked with CIC, based on my rep's information if you get medical request then you will see a msg in your online account but if you can call them to check that would be amazing. Try using google talk, skype etc to make the call.

Due to a recent screw up in System Upgrade , many applicants now have a "message" for Medical Request but no medical forms. If you received Medical forms in myCIC or via email then your "Medical request" is genuine if not then wait for couple of days , CIC will either send you forms or "Medical Request" message will revert back to "Medical Exams not required at this time".

I also got the medical status changed which is they request me for medical. My husband called CIC for 10 times ,but they are currently so bz that no one received. But he checked the status by voice service from CIC ,It said that they request me medical.Now the question is without the request form how could I do my medical ?? Should I do the upfront??Anyone have any idea ?? Thank you!

What I know voice service & online both are connected, i have the same thing but haven't received medical yet. CIC rep can verify if they really requested medical for you

It was a suggestion, doesn't have to be skype, there are lot of apps which can help you to call unlimited Canada/US, not sure if you are calling from outside then which one is better

Called CIC & they are like open new technical request Tech request menas another 2-3 weeks again & even when they reply they are not that helpful so i guess we need to wait until CIC fixes it

what was their specific answer here. is it technical error or its a prior message before medical issues?

It seems like everyone got the same message. And now the most confusing part is some got real one. I was happy that finally they request me medical Now I have to call them and will ask what is actually going on.
