Minor Overstay in Canada and How To Be Back

My kid ( holding US Passport) visitor record expired in May 2016. At that time we stayed in Manitoba, in the process of PR application. I totally forgot the expired date. In July 2016, I lost my temporary residence status in Canada and planed to go back my home country immediately. At that time, I finally realized my kid already overstayed in Canada for 60 days. I don't know how to fix it and we just left Canada quickly.

Now kid and I live in my home coutry, still in the process of PR application. Recently I wanna apply for a visitor visa and bring her back to Canada. Cause We left Canada for almost one year, a lot of things like house problem , bank stuff waiting me to deal with. Just realize what a horrible mistake I made last year, feel extremely sorry for my ignorance. And feel so sorrry to my litter girl. She really likes Canada and wanna be back.

Is there anyone knows if this could be fixed before re-enter into Canada? and will my kid face the situation that can not go back Canada? As her mom, what kind of consequence I will bear?

Really thank you for sharing your opinion

There's no way to "fix" this issue. If you've been outside of Canada for almost a year - you shouldn't have any issues re-entering.

Hi, scylla, sorry to bother you again. A lawyer just told me, I got only 50% percent chance to get the visitor visa approved. The reason he gave me is, first, I stayed in Canada for three years before and I am in the PR application process now, there is no strong evidence showed I will be back my country. Second, my daughter has 60 days overstay in Canada, and my mom got refusal to re-enter into Canada once cause she stayed almost 180 days in one year with her visitor visa. Lawyer told me these facts will affect my application of visitor visa.
I am kind of scared of ’ 50% chance’. Is there any advice for me to apply for the visitor visa? Now I have a job in my country. And if my daughter go with me, will she has the problem to re-enter into Canada? About my daughter, the lawyer said it depends on what is record in their system.

To fix the issues, can't you?

1) hire a person or property management company to look after your Canadian house while you are away
2) Get online banking connected, so you can access your bank account from outside the country.
