I have around 6 months of unpaid leave from one of my previous employer. In my profile I dint included these 6 months under experience but the employer reference letter doesn't show gap in employment. It states continuous employment. Do I need to get a new letter showing the gap in employment.
If so, Do I need to ask my employer to mention "Was on Unpaid Leave for six months".

Thanks

Your employer reference letter is correct, you can upload the same reference letter in the work histories for that company, and explain this in the LOE. If you have done any activity or work in that gap then mention that in the personal history

I am exactly in the same position - had a 1 year LOA during which I was abroad pursuing higher studies. Employer has shown continuous employment. I removed that period from work experience - have it under education and personal history as educational activity and am including the details in LOE along with proof I'd leave approval. Will be submitting documents in early July.

It should be ok - technically you were on the headcount of the company just not receiving salary. So as far as they are concerned it's not a break in employment for them. CIC will understand this. Don't worry and good luck

My case is similar to you except that I travelled to different countries. So, I went through all this research after receiving ITA. I spoke with a person who got the PR and in the same situation like me. Based on this information, I have provided my opinion.
