Hello all,
I've got someone who doesn't have a valid PR card (it's expired) nor does she have a valid passport (it's also expired), those are the only forms of identification allowed for IELTS or any other test. She does have a high school diploma which is in english and hindi as well and the instruction for that was in english but she is unable to get a letter from her insitution cause she's been in canada for like 20 years as a PR. Any advice on what she can do?

Thanks,

Hi,

About your post a friend of mine had the same case, High school Diploma is fine for English Language proof as long as it has an English translation. She don't need to take EILTS, as I mention High School diploma is fine. It was indicated on CIC website citizenship requirements.

The link below is where you can read the Step 1.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/language.asp

She don't need to renew her PR card to apply for citizenship. She just need to provide two identification card. Health card, Passport or Drivers License are fine too.

Also she might wanna try take the CELPIP if she really need the English Language proof. CELPIP is also option on cic website for English. I read here somewhere that CELPIP is much easier to take rather than EILTS.

Goodluck to her...
