Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Hello All:

It seems to me that CPC-Ottawa has come to a full stop. I do not see any activity in the spreadsheet. My parent's background check has been in progress since Nov, 24, 2016. I see from the spreadsheet that there are people whose medical results were received in September and October 2016 still waiting for the PPR. What I would like to know though is that if the background check has been in process for these people as well.

I ordered the GCMS notes to see if I can get any further info on the process .

It is frustrating to see that things are not moving at all in CPC-Ottawa; soon medical will expire; anyone else in the same situation? Is there an email address to send them email enquiry on latest updates? Appreciate your help.


Getting worries now as it seems background check has not started yet; ECAS is showing the next step is to do a background check.

I completed my last X Ray on May18. Now ECas says MEDICAL RESULTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED since May24.
But not MEDICAL PASSED.
Now waiting to see when it turns to medical passed.
Experienced forum members please guide me whether it will turn to MEDICAL PASSED in the ECas?When?
Then again in the LONG QUEUE of PPR.
Let us hope for the FASTER Processing OF OUR APPLICATIONS.

I sent an email to CIC NDVO and they replied that your medicals are valid until Dec 2017 and that your application is in queue

Does this mean that they are currently processing applications based on the medicals validity date? Does anyone has insights into this?

Thank you ija1971 and kaka555.As I hired a consultant I am not able to see in my cic account.I mailed twice to my consultant but no reply. I assume I have passed the medical.Now in a long queue of PPR.

hey guys,
so i've been checking in to this forum to see how people are progressing.
i'm part of the bunch who got a flurry of activity from NDVO last summer and it looked rosy but since then radio-silence.
a bit jealous when i hear others got their parents through(esp from NDVO)
anyway hoping we all get good news soon.

i have a couple of queries - i linked the application to myCIC and check almost daily but no updates there. i'm left wondering if that's any use at all.

i'm also sponsoring my son and wife who are American. it's been one year now. their medicals were done in Nov 2016. in feb 2017, they requested the passport page of my son and since then nothing. it should have been a slam dunk.
they are living with me now unofficially but i'm nervous because they don't have ohip.

is there any avenue for me to enquire what the hold-up is?
is there a specific phone number to call? or should i request gcsm notes? do those help?

please help- any advice would be appreciated.
(i recognise there is separate forums for spousal stuff - but i'm hoping someone here can help)

I have new addition to my family so is it really important to update CIC ? though even after the new addition to my family ( family of 4 before and now 5 my cut out income is fine ).I am sponsoring my both parents and file is at CIC London and updated status says medicals passed and wtng for background application to start.

In case if i have to update Visa office what documentation i need to send,do i need to fill up forms again ? Or i can just leave it now ?

Any update from those whose files are at London visa office.

Hi Simp,

If I am not wrong I have read PPR letters from other members here and in that letter CIC asks you to provide any update you may have in your life; for example Job change, new addition to family etc.
May be you can wait for the PPR from CIC and then respond them back with a letter.

I am jan 5 2016 applicant, file transfered to ottawa in March. and no comunication after that, Today i checked my Gckey account, and medical status is as below
"We have requested a medical exam. check your messages below for details."

and there is no message in Application message section.
Ecas shows Application Received.
Anyone in same boat.

I have the exact same message (and blank message box). Contacted my LVO (Sao Paulo regarding this and this is their reply:

"Dear sir / madam,

Kindly note that our department is updating our database and we will contact our head office to inform them of the issue. At the present time our office has not sent any request for a medical examination. Your file is still in queue awaiting assessment.

No further action is required from you at this time. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an estimated date for the finalization of your application. Our office will contact you as soon as more information or documents are required.

Thank you for your continued patience."


Conclusion: False alarm, at least for me. Hope you guys have better luck
