My question on digital photo -
It is very difficult to get digital photo in US. Nobody does it (walgreens, CVS all do paper photo only), maybe in big cities like NYC dome do, I dont know. Whereas in India there were specialized photo labs in gurgaon and bangalore where I could go and tell what I need and they gave exact photos (e.g. for US visa etc. etc.). Anybody from US here who can tell me where can i get the exact specification photo? Also what are the specifications for the photo (an official CIC website link that has photo requirement/specs would be appreciated). Thanks.

You can use passport photo app (andriod). It will allow you to set specifications. I used it for my application had no issues. All the best.

I called a lot of places, and ending up using Walgreen's. They have the software for the correct image size per Canada requirements, however the catch is that you have to cut them yourself. It ended up working out great. I'd recommend making some copies on your printer if you have photo paper in case you make a mistake cutting them. The link to the photo specs is below...

Thanks but per my understanding CIC asks for both paper as well as soft copies of photos, right? and Walgreens does not provide soft/digital copies, at least that's what they told me. any input?

I was not asked for digital copies in my PPR, or on the sheet in my PPR that I linked you to above. Only time I saw info about digital copies was after ITA during application submission. Even if I had been asked for them, I would have just scanned my photos to get the digital copies.

After ITA, submit the eAPR..electronic application for PR according to the checklist....lastly you will get a PPR Passport request for your PR

so you are saying you did not need to provide digital copies during eAPR submission after ITA receipt? only after PPR you had to send photos and those are hard copies. thats what you are saying? thanks.

You do have to submit a digital photo as part of the eAPR = after ITA but before PPR (Passport Request). I live in the US, so I went to Walgreen's because they can create paper photos using the Canadian specs (unfortunately they don't provide digital photos). However, I think their Canadian specs are different from the photo dimensions specified as part of the eAPR. So, I scanned the paper photo at a high resolution (600dpi), and then cropped the image using the image-editing software on my computer to fit the dimensions/proportions that are required.
