There is no such thing as a transit visa. You apply for a TRV. IRCC will decide if it's multiple or single.

Thought you were claiming refugee status? Why would you worry about your return trip?

Just in case of any issues may happen. So they can make it single or multiple. I am applying online for transit visa not a visitor visa, so why you say there is nothing called transit visa ?

And when you go through that with an Egyptian passport living in KSA you get to fill out IMM 5257 (application for a TRV)..

Not just for an Egyptian passport holder living in KSA, IMM 5257 must be filled out for transit visa applications.

There are options for 'Visitor Visa' and 'Transit Visa' in Question 3 of this IMM 5257.

Regardless of the forms to be filled, whether transit visa or TRV, the OP has clearly indicated that he intends to seek asylum when he arrives in Canada.

IMO, the OP must do a reality-check to see if his refugee claim has a remote chance of being successful especially when his personal life is not in danger as he lives with his family/works in KSA. Anyways. It's his call

Can you please explain more about what you mean ! without shortcuts like OP, IMO, etc.

Thank you

OP = Original Poster
IMO = In My Opinion
KSA = Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

BTW (By The Way) these are universal acronyms/abbreviations.

I have not said anything that's different to what several other people have advised on your other threads. That your refugee claim has little chance of success because you have a perceived sense of danger to your life vis-a-vis the real, actual, imminent dangers/threats to life/persecution, etc that successful refugee claimants are able to demonstrate.

Your refugee claim is based on hypothetical situations or at best on what other people are facing. Or what may happen to you in the future. These are ifs-and-buts type of scenarios. Not actual persecution, dangers, etc. to you

Anyways, it's your decision
