Hi i have work experience of 7 years and i want to study a specialization course in photography and media management which is relevant to my current work experience ,but the consultants here says that it is very tough to get the visa approved and also i cannot try for university of 2 years course ..i might try for only one year course and that can help you to get a visa since i have 7 years of education gap but i have work experience proof and valid SOP.Please kindly guide me, is it too late to try for colleges and study ?because i want to gain international experience in my field i wanted to take up my higher studies, thank you.

I don't think the gap matters as long as you can justify. The most important point is the studies you are going to undertake in Canada. As a part of student visa application you will have to justify how is this education going to help you with your career goals. In addition if its relevant to your past experience / education etc or not.
Another important point is the university / college you are going to attend. If its an highly ranked institution with competition for admissions, visa will have a better chance of approval.
I personally know someone who got her student visa approved and she had a 6 year gap. But she had been admitted to one of Canada's top most university and had a clear SOP on how this education fit into her career goals.

Hi everyone,
I was studing hospitality and I dropped out in 2013 during my second yr of college. Since then I was working as a freelance waiter for events till 2016. I wish to pursue a diploma program in Canada but since it was a freelance job I don't have a pay slip or experience letter. I also have only 44% in 12th board. Will it affect my chances of getting a student permit?
