Hey, I am a second year DU student graduated 12th in 2015 and accepted to U of A for undergrad fall intake 2017 with transfer credit in three courses.
10th and 12th grades are 86% and 82% resp.
DU grades are pretty average 5.75 SGPA out of 10 where the highest that's ever gone is 8. mentioned that SOP.
IELTS 8.0 overall.
Paid the entire year's tuition fee that is 22k CAD along with GIC and entire residence fee as well.
In my sponsors account we have about 10,000 CAD to spare. We attached an affidavit mentioning the presence of significant funds and properties in order to sponsor my education along with salary slips and ITR for two years. However I'm sure thats not a problem as it clearly mentions on the cic website that financial documents would be paid tuition fee receipt and GIC funds WHICH WE HAVE ALREADY PROVIDED. Financials were not ticked under reason for refusal.
The only reason ticked in the refusal letter is was under the OTHER category with comment mentioned below:
Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous
studies, missing marksheets, academic record, level of establishment, language abilities, or your
future prospects and plans.
Now I do admit at the moment of applying (5th May) my transfer credit report had not been published so we did not attach that with the application online however day before yesterday the university emailed me with my transfer credit report in three courses. Besides this, all my academic documents where present so no missing marksheets. I don't think I've done particularly bad in my school grades as I know people who've done much worse and gotten their visa approved.
I DO NOT have any family members (immediate relatives) that live in Canada. Future prospects weren't entirely mentioned in SOP while applying. I just wrote that I'm interested in working with leading researchers in my field.
I will be applying for the visa once again, this time by submitting my documents at the VFS center.
I have attached my transfer credit report along with paid residence fees (just got the confirmation contract a week back as it wasn't present during time of applying the first time around) and a letter of intent clarifying poin by point their concerns about how my proposed studies are not reasonable (language abilities makes no sense! I have an 8.0 IELTS overall score!)
KINDLY HELP AND PROVIDE ANY ADVICE THAT WILL BE HELPFUL TO AVOID REJECTION A SECOND TIME AROUND.
