There is no minimum income requirement and no requirement to be employed in order to sponsor a spouse. However, you need to be able to prove to IRCC that you can support yourselves in Canada without welfare. This can be shown through a combination of savings, investments, family assistance, income, income potential etc.

There is no set amount of time. Generally, we say no more than 2-3 weeks, a few times during the process.
