I just looked up how to get an annulment (its ontario but the whole of canada will be similar)... there are very limited reasons.... has he told you how he will do it because they specifically stste that marrying just to move to canada isnt a good enough reason for annulment so he cant even say that to them

You can also sponsor your common law partner... you cant annul common law you just break up. He sponsored you as his wife... if.he gets an annulment that doesnt turn back time the sponsorship is already in place. Hes just trying to scare you. Im also pretty doubtful he could get an annulment without you agreeing

jeff is right i think he trying to scare you and I do not think he knows everything and he's enjoy seeing fear in you do not let him get to you and you can say if it comes to that I been talking to a lawyer

but with her she's a student made her sign a paper in front of lawyer saying she cannot get spousal support bUT can she get social assitance and they bill it to him or someone told him to cover his butt

about you signing something I some what think he did not go to a real lawyer or did he and I suspect he's enjoy this emotional abuse he's doing and stress from one woman to another woman do not let this pos get to you cause your letting him know he's wining but he's not your getting your education and being a strong woman and make him afraid of you and tell.him your talking to a legal professional

You cant prenupt your way out of the undertaking.... it goes against the whole point of sponsorship so if she signed something to get out of his undertaking it isnt legal. She may have signed a prenupt so she cant get anything as per normal divorce but hes still liable for 3 years social assistancd if she claimend

thar sounds right if i was her i would go on it cause that what is right and it's help basic things and get police escorts get her stuff plus copr this pos is playing with her and he knows it's working but she have to not let him get to her

Yes if he has anything you want/need the police have to take your escort request seriously. I have a friend who did it because her ex was abusive. They didnt believe her but they had to stand in the living room while she removed her things

Men like him they think gives them power it does not you have to show him that he does not have power over you and your not a victim but veronica go talk to a lawyer they can clear stuff up

Don't believe a word he says. An annulment will be irrelevant to your PR status.

Your PR status is completely safe. He can complain to IRCC all he wants, they will not revoke it. He will be seen as a disgruntled ex-spouse, i'm sure they get these kind of cases all the time.

Ok thanks for the help guys! He is bringing my stuff to my place, i told him i would go to the police and when he finally saw that i'm not afraid he said he'll do what's necessary. As for the agreement it was signed and witnessed by a lawyer, a known one in Toronto. It mentions the law firm and everything with original stamps and signatures, so i don't think i can go around that. It basically stated that i'm not entitled to any spousal support, but even if i was entitled he wasn't working and i'm the one with the higher income so it's irrelevant to our case.
Like you guys said all i can do is go on welfare and bill him

Welfare should not be used as a revenge tactic. By all means use it if you really genuinely need to, but don't misrepresent your situation just to make yourself eligible. Even though he would be billed by the government to pay it back, using welfare when you don't need to damages the program for those that genuinely need it.
Plus it's better for your own character if you can succeed on your own anyways.
