Hey guys!
So I am getting ready to head to Canada in a few months to get married to my partner of two years! Last year I had lived with them for about four months as I tried to find an employer willing to sponsor and fill out an LMIA. I ended up having to return to the states while I continue to search for a job up there that would sponsor me. About four months ago we decided that we hated being apart and that, since our relationship was heading that way anyway that we would get married this summer. I am so excited and nervous at the same time because of the application process. I've posted some questions on here before but I thought I might ask a few more since the time is coming closer.
1) Because I am applying inland and will be sending in a work permit along with my application, does anyone know if the open work permit is a fairly guaranteed approval? While I have been working hard to save money while my fiance has been working hard to pay rent and bills, I know that without my income for longer than 5 months or so we will be in a real bind financially. But if I have a work permit, my current job will let me transfer up there.
2) Is there anything that I can start now that will help us later on with the application process? I already have texts and pictures and even a letter from a close friend to help prove the validity of our relationship. Is there anything else I can start on? Is the medical exam something that I can do while I am still in the states?
I have so many questions but of course as I sit down to type them out they all leave me... If Anyone here has any experience with applying for spousal sponsorship with an inland application that happens to be from the USA and would like to give me advice, please feel free to message me. I would love to talk to someone!
