Hi,

Thanks for reading my post. It might sound stupid. But I thought it is always good to clarify.

On the application to sponsor form, Number 6 question is:

Indicate the nature of your relationship to the principal applicant.

I am sponsoring my parents. So, should I choose parent or child?

Thanks

I am also thinking child. But just confusing. Can anyone else add their response please?
Seriously? Read my post. If you put parent, that would mean that you are the parent of the Principal Applicant.

Not sure what you meant. I said, I think it is child. I guess you also think it should be child.

These are the options:
    • Spouse
    • Common-law partner
    • Conjugal partner
    • Child
    • Grandchild
    • Parent
    • Adoptive parent
    • Other
I think, if I sponsor my granfather, I will choose Grandchild and for my parents I would choose Child.

hi. i have the same question and on the latest IMM1344e version 06/2017, CIC has removed the option of 'grandchild' and added 'grandparent'.

in this case, i'm starting to believe that the correct answer will be "parent".

please advise. thanks.

Relationship of the applicant to the sponsor. Sponsor = child, therefore Applicant = parent

IMM1344 is a sponsor form and the question is asking for the relationship of the sponsor to the Principal Applicant, so the answer is "Child".

It's not a stupid question at all—it's important to make sure everything on your application is correct.

In this context, you should indicate that you are the child of the principal applicants as relation to applicant, as you are sponsoring your parents. The principal applicants are your parents, and your relationship to them is that you are their child
