Hello,

I am applying for residency under the family class, commonlaw, in land application.
I will send me application off at the end of June as me and my partner will have been living together for a year.
I know on the CIC website it says to wait to get a medical but we are going travelling around Canada in July so it could be difficult to get the medical. If I got the medical on the day I send the application and send it with the application would CIC still ask for a new one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou

You won't be able to have an upfront medical. That option ended last December 2016. You have to wait for the request. But unless you had it done before and it isn't expired yet, then yes you can submit it with your application.

You can still send your medical with your application at the end of June. Sometimes they do ask for a new one if your file takes long to process. They may or may not. Its totally up to them to make that decision. I know of ppl where did ask and didnt ask for a new one so its hard to say.

I am a March 2017 applicant. I did not send my medical upfront incase my file takes long to process. I rather wait for them to request it because it is costly to do medical twice for same application. Medicals expire after 1 year.

There are quite a few people who still happened to do it upfront. The problem is some do pass it and some they ask them to do the medical again. So i would not risk paying money twice to do the medical. I am waiting for the request to do mine.

No approved panel physician will allow her to have the medical upfront, so it's impossible to include it in her application. Unless she had done a medical prior to December 15, 2016 then she can submit that one.

Really? Do you happen to know who these people are and when they did the upfront medical? Afaik, you can't do them upfront anymore.

KandyK is right, I have seen a handful of people. But they are people from late December, January, maybe early February so I am thinking maybe it was a grace period or something of that sort but in the last few months I agree, and same for us, no panel physician will see you without the special form immigration sends along with the request

I understand what you and KandK are trying to say. But the concern is about the OP, she can't have the upfront medical right now. Those who submitted the upfront medical had it done on or before December 15, 2016.

Lol, I agreed with you in my post.
I specifically said no panel physician will see you without the form from immigration when you get the request

However, OP can submit her medical along with her application if she had done it upfront before.

Besides the fact that IRCC does not require provide medical examination upfront according to new application process it is still possible to get one. The decision rests with particular panel physician. If you'd like to go this way, you have to call the certified panel physician in your region, describe your situation and ask to pass medical upfront. If panel physician work with eMedical system it shouldn't be a problem.

The new application process does not require medical upfront cause it is possible you might won't need one. That's it the only reason - to save your time and money.

Okay ya it was from people who was like early jan or February who said they did it upfront. It is much better this way now so in that case your medical dont expire.

Where did you get this? No one is exempt from having a medical. A medical is a mandatory test.

Medical is mandatory test but in cases when medical had been provided earlier they might not request new one. It happened with me when I extended my stay the second time. They were fine with my expired medical from the last year and no hussle.
