Hi All
Help required

Got my ECA report but my MBA majors is mentioned incorrectly as major/ specialisation in business administration
Whereas it should be finance

How do I get it corrected ? - I hav already dropped a mail to WES but no reply as of now
What are the chances of it being corrected?
If corrected how soon can I get the report?
Does this major - make a big difference as I have got the equivalency as myasters already

Any help or suggestion - much appreciated

An MBA is a specialization in business administration. The US and Canada don't care about the specifics of your MBA - all MBAs are treated alike (assuming they are from a recognized and credentialed school, of course)

The sub-categories of an MBA (finance, marketing, etc) are an Indian thing. You can use that info when you're applying for a job here, but from CIC's perspective, you have a masters and that's all they care about.

Don't worry about it, you will get the max points for a masters degree.

Thanks a lot for the above information - kudos

My concern was also regarding the NOC Code 1112 - as it states mba with concentration in finance may be required
- so was just confused that should ECA also have something alike - because as of now it is not stating finance as concentration , which my degree states clearly??
Does ECA specification matter for the NOC Code - or am I good to go with my degree stating the same ?

Your help much appreciated

You'll need your employer reference letter to match your NOC code. That letter should have language that makes it clear that you did everything the job required. This document establishes your work experience, and you'll get points for work based on it.

The ECA report establishes your educational qualifications, and you get points for education from this.

Also, when you upload your documents, you will upload a copy of your degree, so your specialization will be visible to the case officer.

You're fine with your ECA. Work on your job reference letter now.

Hi seniors

It's unrelated to ECA,
Its basically regarding the NOC Job referral from employer -

Is there some requirement that referral is supposed to be taken post ITA only ? Or can it be done beforehand

I am planning to go into the pool within next week or so -
Jus guauging things that could be completed before ITA

Thanks in advance for all the help and suggestions

There is no harm in getting reference letter... CIC has mentioned on their website that the documents they require may take a lot of time to get it from your employer, hence they advise you to start early....
