Hi.
These 2 letters that IRCC is asking for, do they have to be in English or French. Do the original letters have to be notarized and does the translation have to be done by a certified translator. Am I missing anything?

thanks

Which letters? If they are supporting your relationship then they should be notarized

Yes, they should be in English or French. You can translate them yourself if needed.

No, they don't need to be notarized.

No, they won't call.

You cant be sure of that... otherwise everyone could just type up letters and say they were different friends... there has to be checks in place

The checks in place are interviews. Even when interviews are called, IRCC doesn't really call other people about the couple.

Genuine couples aren't going to write fake letters and risk a charge of misrepresentation, refusal and a 5 year ban. If people do write fake letters, then it is probably a Marriage of Convenience anywas with lots of other red flags.

Is it just letters of financial support that need notarizing? Ive seen these returnes if not notarized for example when the sponsor is at school /unemployed and their parents are supporting both

No letter actually needs to be notarized. If financial letters of support are what a couple is showing in place of their own income/savings, it is better for those to be notarized but still not required. I've not seen apps returned for financial support letters not being notarized.

The old app package required notarized letters of support from common-law couples and there were a few apps returned for failing to include those.
