Hi folks

I have few queries about upfront medical test for study permit. Please help.

1. How long does it take to get the report from the doctor? (a couple of days/ a week/ a month ?)
2. Will the doc give you a report summary (print out) and you will upload it along with your visa application? Or will it be uploaded to eMedical by the doctor even though you do not have an ongoing visa application (upfront medical) ?
3. Is there any potential trouble associated with upfront?

Any suggestions/ insights are welcome. Applicant is from Kolkata, India, applying online.

Thanks in advance.

1. Doctor will not provide you any report.
2. No. Its confidential between the Clinic and embassy.
3. Its better to go upfront.

Thanks nykson. So what am I supposed to write in my visa application if the doc does not give me a report? will they give me a code number or something that I mention in my application?

Hi I recently got my medical done and applied for VISA online and this is the procedure i followed -

Firstly search and decide on the doctor you want to visit , A list of approved panel physicians is available here - http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx
(I can see 2 doctors from kolkata in the list).Book an appointment as soon as possible .

On the day of the medical test , please take your passport , letter of acceptance from the university and a few copies of both along with 2/3 passport size photographs . (These were needed by my doctor i got my test done in chennai , India)

The test is a fairly simple process and should be done in around 2 hours at the max .Once you are done you will be provided with a letter which has a UMI number and a barcode .This is your reference number .When applying online you will simply have to take a scan of this document and upload it .

The reports are confidential and will not be made available to you and will be directly sent to the Canadian high commission .

And its better to have a medical upfront as this will ensure you dont have any unnecessary delays in your application process .

IS the Acceptance letter needed ? I thought of completing the medical before I receive the letter from the university.
