My humble opinion is to apply with your spouse because the cut-off score is decreasing every draw. And it means both of you can land together in Canada instead of having to wait for months, and in some cases years, for spousal sponsorship to be processed. Even tourist visas for spouses of permanent residents come with its own share of hassles.
I've applied with my spouse too at 403 instead of 428 without spouse.
All the best.
Thanks. I have decided to go as per your suggestion. My lawyer emailed me that my profile is in queue to be created. Don't know why they are making an easy thing difficult on purpose. I cam across this forum pretty late or else I would have created the EE profile myself a long time ago :( But let's see maybe within next week my profile would be created and I would be selected in the next draw.

I've found that lawyers and consultants often slow the Express Entry process instead of speeding it up o_O

And believe me, it is very easy to create EE profile on your own, with or without help from the forum (though having support from fellow forum members when you are tearing out your hair is definitely a plus point ;))

Good luck to you.

Believe me that works exactly I said, you should get CLB9 in all 4 of ielts, then you could claim max points of 50
if u r claiming ur highest education as masters degree along a graduation degree ul get 126 points max and u cant claim any more points for diplomas ther is no option

Hello Friends,

I have made my EE profile being me as primary applicant and my score is coming out to be 347. I've created another profile with my wife's details as the primary applicant and me being the secondary applicant and her score is coming out to be 399. Is there any issue that we both have 2 profiles being one as primary applicant and one being secondary applicant?

Who else think that CIC would clear off everyone over 400 before June change? and yes again.. the June 6 change is not going to affect much on CIC

Not even in my wildest dreams. But hope away. I'd be thrilled to be wrong.
Why do you think so? there are just over 5000 applicants above 400 after yesterdays draw. if CIC decides 2 draws of ~3700 before June 6 changes its sure to clear off the existing 5000 + new entrants. I don't see any immediate changes otherwise to increase of scores (like what we saw last time when new graduates after 1 year exp entered pool with high scores). The only question is will CIC conduct 2 draws before June 6 or will they stick on with their usual bi-weekly draw. Either way its gonna drop below 400.

...and 400 is just a benchmark we created. For CIC it is just a number to identify pools of candidate based on THEIR eligibility criteria. For them the primary concern is to fill in the allotted EE quota for the year (based on THEIR best AVAILABLE candidates identified in their pool)

The daily number of new entrants higher than the last cutoff is substantial. I doubt there will be more than 1500 ITAs available to bring the number down further in each draw. I do think it will get there. Just not as quickly.

I have not yet received ITA but do you think I should apply for Police clearance nowitself? My wife's EE score is 399. We both are in US but in different states. She lives in OH and I'm staying in WV.
1) Once we get ITA(hopefully in next 2 draws may be :)), do we need police clearance only from US or from India also? We have not visited India from last 2.5 years.
2) If it is only from US, then OH comes under NewYork consulate and WV comes under Washington DC consulate. Do we need to apply independently at both these places?

Please reply. If there is anyone in the same boat like me, lets connect.

I spoke to multiple canadian lawyers and consultants and they gave me conflicting and misleading information. I created my own ee profile. The only time lawyers (i dont trust consultants) could come in handy is after receiving ITA if you are not sure about all the docs you need to submit. I am thinking of hiring a lawyer if i get an ITA, just to be on tje safe side.

You are wrong. Compare the spreadsheets in previous posts, there is not much change in pool of people between 401-410 or 411+ from the statistics CIC has released. So there is no "Substantial" number new entrants. And if there were, the score would not have come down to 415 from 423 since the last draw.

also post June 6 changes, only ppl with siblings or french proficiency and above 385 points will be going over 400. Based on very liberal calculation, their count cant go beyond 600 which is hardly 20% of an average draw.
