No employment reference letter :((

My employer refused point blank to provide any kind of reference letter describing job roles and responsibilities stating that it is against company policy to provide such a letter. All they can do is give a general employment letter.
My question is
1. will it lead to a definite rejection?
2. I've read in many posts on this forum about the workaround for this problem..i.e to get an affidavit done. Has anyone done this and still got PR? Any idea abt the success rate of getting a PR with no official reference letter?

I think the standard advise in such a situation is to try and get employer's refusal in writing. This way you have proof you tried you best to get the reference in the required format.

In my case, both my employers refused to put my salary and number of hours on the reference letters I am hoping to get around that problem by including my contracts and pay slips (they are not on company letterhead unfortunately but are simple printouts).

Some people on this forum claim to have done this and managed to convince the Canadian immigration authorities to give them PR. I hope I get lucky too.

Hey did u try getting a letter from your reporting boss. If u are in good terms with him u can get a letter from him stating all the details and his contact details as well and back it up with an LOE. Good luck
