Hi,

I have a question regarding eligible work experience for Express entry Federal Skilled Worker Program.
Per the program, 1560 hours of work during 12 months is considered 1 year of full time; however, the site was unclear whether work less than 12 months can be considered 1 full year as long as the total hours requirement has been met.

I have worked in Company A for 1 year and 11 months; at 40 hours per week, thats roughly 2000 hours the first year and around 1850 hours for second year
Thereafter I have also worked for 9 months in company B; at 40+hours per week, this also exceeds 1560 (is around 1600 hours)

Based on above data, can I claim 3 years of full time experience?

Thanks

No - you have two years of work experience (not three).

Here's how you calculate your work experience.

1) Any week you worked full-time (30 hours or more) is counted as one week of work experience. Even if you worked 90 hours that week, it's still only counted as 1 week.
2) For any weeks where you were part-time (worked less than 30 hours), add up the total number of hours and then divide by 30 to get the number of weeks of work experience.

hi,
do the minimum of 1 year experience from NOC list have tobe within last 5 years..?
CIC site says '1 year experience in an occupation in NOC within last 10 years' and their 'Come to Canada' tool tells me I'm eligible even though I answer 'No' to the question 'do you have minimum 2 years of experience in any of the trades'..I couldn't find

I see. Thanks, that helps

Just to recap, work experience is determined by the number of full time work weeks, and not solely by number of hours - more hours worked cannot make up for shortage of weeks.
And please correct me if I am wrong, but it doesn't seem like we can round off our experience; 2 years and 8 months (my case) would still be 2 years.

Thanks a lot for the assist.

Can you please help me here.
I have an experience under 2171 code from 15th Apr 15 - 04 Apr 16 ( 11 days short of 1 year) and from 15 Apr 16 - till date (still working), so will my experience be counted as 3 years?? Technically I have completed my 3 years (15 Apr 15 - till date, with 11 days gap)
Does IRCC count number of days to determine experience duration?
