malaysia police certificate query

So I've studied/lived in Malaysia for 4 years, but was never on Malaysian soil for a year or longer at any given time. I'd go home almost every term break.

My question, is the certificate only issued if you've lived there for a continuous year or more, or does it also apply for a total duration of a year or more?

Would appreciate responses from people who've dealt with the same.

if you've lived there for more than 6 months in total, you'd need 1...

If you've lived in any country,not just malaysia, for more than 6 months consecutively or continuously since you were 18 or for the last 10 years, you need to get that country's police certificate.

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence? No. Citizenship and Immigration Canada will send you a letter requesting a police certificate after you send your Application for Permanent Residence. You must bring that letter when you apply for a Police Certificate.

Hi Maverick28,

I have people telling me that this was referring to the Canadian Police Cert and that one should still apply for and submit the Malaysian CGC in the PR application.. what is the correct stance by CIC?

Also I've requested for the Malaysian CGC on the ekonsular website in mid September but a month later it is still "In Process'. I am worried something went wrong since it seems it usually only takes at most 2-3 weeks. Would appreciate any insight anyone has.
