Hi guys,
I know there are a lot of posts on this topic but I hope you will understand how stressing filling up the Express Entry application can be... I will appreciate any help.
I am having an issue determining my NOC code. I tried emailing to NC-NOC-CNP-GD2@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca with this only to receive the response stating:
Perhaps one of you guys has better understanding of this and could help me... I would be super grateful...
The title of the position that I need to classify is "Credit Risk Analyst".
This position dealt with different statistical calculations performed on information of bank clients. Most of the time the aim of my work was to develop an statistical algorithm to calculate the probability that a client will default on his/her debts or developing an algorithm estimating how much money will the bank be able to get from a client in the process of reposition.
My responsibilities as a credit risk analyst were:
* - Analyse data associated with defaulted and non-defaulted bank clients stored in a SQL database
* - Maintain and develop code written in computer programming languages SAS and SQL for calculation of risk parameters loss-given-default and credit-conversion-factor on retail and SME portfolios
* - Perform ad-hoc analyses determining the potential impacts of different changes in the statistical models
* - Evaluate data quality and maintain data quality assessment scripts
* - Produce and distribute monthly and quarterly reports on risk parameters created in the computer program Microsoft Excel
* - Communication with other [name of the bank removed] subsidiaries
* - Perform analyses and predictions of macroeconomic outlook for [names of countries removed]
I have classified this job experience as NOC 4162 "Economists and economic policy researchers and analysts”.
Do you think 4162 is correct? The second option that I was considering is NOC 1112 "Financial and investment analysts”, but there I can only match like 2 job duties... I was also considering just general Statistician ( NOC 2161 ), but the descriptions sounds too mathy.

I am having an issue determining my NOC code. I tried emailing to NC-NOC-CNP-GD2@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca with this only to receive the response stating:
I guess they must be overloaded with all the queries they are receiving from all the 4000 people who have received or are expecting ITA this yearThe NOC is designed to classify occupational information in the Canadian labour market in a standardized framework and a manageable, understandable and coherent system. The basic principle of classification of the NOC is that of ‘kind of work performed’. Occupations are identified and grouped primarily in terms of the work usually performed, this being determined by the tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the occupation. A job, in turn, encompasses all the tasks carried out by a particular worker to complete their duties.
Please note that our role is only to provide guidance and support in your NOC search and it is not within our mandate to determine and confirm NOC code selections.
In order for you to confirm and validate how closely a NOC code matches your occupation, you must refer to the NOC profile in question and review the main duties and employment requirements to assess if it accurately represents your occupation. Other information within the NOC profile should also be assessed such as example titles, additional information, and classified elsewhere sections.
When determining your NOC code, even though the job title and the employment requirements are important, emphasis is placed on the main duties. We encourage you to choose the NOC code that corresponds to the education and experience required by your employer as well as to the majority of your main duties.
Please note that the final decision for selecting the most appropriate NOC code is each individual's responsibility as you would be best positioned to identify the education requirements as well as the skills and abilities.
We hope this information is helpful. Thank you for contacting the NOC unit and have a nice day.
Perhaps one of you guys has better understanding of this and could help me... I would be super grateful...
