Hi all, I found my current job through agency Robert Half Canada, I worked for agency for 6 then my company hired me directly. But the problem is, on my reference letter, my company will not mention my agency period, and agency only provide a very general letter, even no job duties included. I really don't know what to do now, can anyone has similar experience help me please??

I have spent 30+ days on the letter..Thank you soooo much for help!

I am not too sure but agency would have asked you to sign a contract which is as an independent contractor. If that is the case and you have signed such document then it doesn't count because it come under self-employment. I would suggest you try to convince agency to give you such letter or else your exp will be consider from the day company hired you as a full-time employee.

This is my point of view and as much as i know. thought to share with you. as i was asked to sign such doc and i refused as it was independent contractor.

Try to convince your agency to give you the desired letter. If they don't, ask them to give you a general letter. With this letter, include your offer letter and pay slips for that period. For job responsibilities, ask the company you worked for, to give you a letter. If they don't agree, ask your direct supervisor for the same. Just tell them to mention your job duties only. This will be enough to support your claim and you can explain this in LOE.

Thank you so much! I did not sign any contract with the agency. There is only an assignment confirmation..
