Hi everyone,

I have applied for LMIA-exempt category work permit.

I got this email from CIC:
------------
Please note that the employer in Canada must provide an Offer of Employment and pay the Employer Compliance fee (CAD $230) through the Employer Portal before the application for work permit is submitted. Please note that this is an essential step prior to the submission of the application for work permit.

Please note that we require a copy of the fee receipt, in which the order number (receipt number) is mentioned in order to upload the fee of CAD $230/-.
----------

When I asked my employer, they told me that they have paid the fee, gave me the file number, and said I do not need to submit the fee receipt. They asked me to insert the email where they mentioned file number.

Can anyone tell me what you did? Did you submit the Employer Compliance fee (CAD $230) receipt at your end too? or should it be done only at the employer's end?

You dont have to upload Employer Compliance fee receipt. However, your Employer MUST submit that receipt through their portal and you MUST have a copy of that receipt as an evidence in case CIC said your Employer did not pay the Compliance fee
