Landing while out of status

Hi there,

I had a quick question about the landing procedure in Canada. I am currently in Canada as "out of status". I applied for restoration of status as a visitor within the 90 day period and still have not heard back from that application. I submitted a paper application and when I called CIC, they said that I can wait until a decision is made. However, this could take up to 3 months to process. My issue is, what if I get my COPR before the restoration application comes back? What do I have to show to the immigration officers as proof of status? I have heard mixed reviews about going to CIC office vs landing at Pearson from an international flight.

Does anyone know what the best option is for someone to conduct landing with an "out of status", status?

Thank you!
