You guys have been great answering all my previous questions. This is my last concern. My current job began the 16th of January, 2016 in my current company and I received my ITA under CEC on 8th of February 2017. In my profile I entered the month I got my job in 01/2016. Am I supposed to change it to 02/2016? By my understanding I received by ITA after one year experience so this shouldn't matter. Could someone confirm this? Thank you!

write the dates per the letters you have. You would need to give the reference letter along with it that has exact dates

But will it be counted as 11 or 12 months
Technically it is less than 12 months
May be someone who has experienced a similar situation can comment.

I have similar issue. I have ITA for CEC on Feb 8. I signed my work contract for Jan 1 2016, but didn't get my work permit until Jan 5, and I worked until Dec 31 before taking parental leave. Technically, that is 361 days of work; does that disqualify me based on MEC requirement of 1 year work experience?

This should be recorded as June to July, which is inclusive and 12 total months. July to July would be 13 months.

July to june is 11 months not 12
Sorry, I accidentally read your post as June to July. Either way, July 1 to June 30 is 12 months, 365 days inclusive. You are fine to report July to June.

Guys,

Many have faced rejections because they assumed their experience is okay and they received ITA because of CIC asks for only month and year (stupidity on their part but nothing we can do). The applicants did not have 12 months instead had 11 months and 1 week or 11 months and 2 weeks and got rejects. CIC always says its our responsibility to ensure we have full 365 day/52 week experience, no matter what their own system says

Always err on the far side of caution here. Make sure it is a full 365 day work experience. To remove any room for interpretation, I waited till 54-55 weeks to apply and get ITA and not 52 weeks on the dot.

There can be no doubt that IRCC means 52 full time weeks when they say 12 months. I would like to hear from applicants who applied with less by days, not weeks. I have not seen any recent posts that offer a definitive position regarding this.

I have seen a few applicants who assume because they got an ITA, they are A-OK to apply with 50-51 weeks of experience - which the express entry tool will accept as "a year" because of the way it asks only for month and not day.

The onus lies on the applicant to ensure a full 365 day/52 week work year.

Hence why I say wait 53-54 weeks instead. Why rush and face rejection.
