Does your PCC have the FBI watermark on it ? Do not want to sound negative but make sure you have the correct one.

True Ankush but at the same true, it is also not written anywhere that getting PCC thorugh any agency is not allowed.. no where on cic or FBI website.. I talked to this agency today and they assured that they have never got a single rejection in last 15-17 years.. They also asked me in return that their tax return, website everything is genuine and they obviously can't take risk of providing fake FBI report.. Everyone knows anything related to FBI or USA and where can we land at.. in a soup.. So no agency will take risk.. Their office is quite old and if they were doing some scam/fraud, they would never publish info everywhere and even never changed any address. to reiterate, ppl who run are attorneys in supreme court and practicing..

Yes it has FBI watermark and colored eagle logo on left top side.. I compared it to the normal PCC which my cousin got through normal process and both are identical. Even signing authority on my cousin's PCC and my PCC are same..

I didn't get your question. Actually they claimed that they file tax return, they have genuine address, genuine history of providing PCC since long..

Yes it has FBI watermark and colored eagle logo on left top side.. I compared it to the normal PCC which my cousin got through normal process and both are identical. Even signing authority on my cousin's PCC and my PCC are same..

If you check carefully, the direct FBI PCC is black and white. The logo on it is also in black not color.

It is clearly written that you can not obtain PCC from channeler/agency if you are not US citizens or US lawful permanent residents.

If you check carefully, the direct FBI PCC is black and white. The logo on it is also in black not color.

Hi.. My cousin who resides in US (but on H1 visa. she is not a citizen or green card holder), got her FBI PCC in Janaury 17 and logo was in color not black & white. So I am sure colored logo in PCC is no problem

So it is clear that US channelers cannot/do not work with our cases.

The gray area - if the US channelers do not work with us directly, the Indian agencies will have to give them some info that would make the US channelers believer that we are either a US citizen or a green card holder, and provide a US address for correspondence. In the FBI form there is no need to give such information, so there is something which the Indian agencies are hiding or being incorrect about.

After all this I just thought it might not be worth it and went by the normal process.

But I would like to highlight one point - No one in the forum i could find has written that they have had success with the short cut method, and no one has also written that they have been rejected because they have used the short cut method. So technically we do not have a case for nor against it.

I had the same logic and I am convinced that the report is genuine. I was almost ready to pay up International Finger Printing guys. But changed my entire approach overnight.

But if you are going with this report, do keep the forum updated for the benefit of others.

I was thinking of moving forward with the short cut method. I was just told that they now can only give a code where in I need to go to the FBI site to get a print out. Initially they said I would be getting a hard copy similar to the regular process.

getting it from FBI sounds genuine but this is not in line with getting a hard copy. I am more confused. I am thinking of getting back to regular process and not take a risk.

I talked to International Fingerprinting Services India in New Delhi (aka IFSI) , yesterday and asked if expedited FBI PCC report thourgh approved channelers will be accepted by CIC. The answer from the person on phone was "Yes".

Person on phone also mentioned the process just changed in March 2017 and FBI PCC is not sending the report on "Blue Secutiry Paper" anymore. The process is automated and it comes on a plain white A4 size paper. I tried to verify this and found this on FBI's website:
15. Will I receive my Identity History Summary on blue security paper?
Due to automation of the mailing process, the FBI does not provide Identity History Summary results on blue security paper. All responses will be processed on standard white paper.
(see FAQ #15 at (www . fbi . gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks)

Further, she also mentioned that I will get an email from FBI with an attachment which will be password protected. Password will be a combination of my SSN and DoB. If I ever need a hard copy of the FBI PCC, I should just print it and it should be as good as what I would get from the regular process.

4. Do you have procedures for expeditious handling?
No. The CJIS Division does not expedite requests; however, an expedited response may be provided by an FBI-approved Channeler.
(see FAQ #4 at www . fbi . gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks)

The above does not say anything about the service is only for US Citizens or Permanent Residents!

Note: Please review the information below regarding the use of FBI-approved Channelers:

An FBI-approved Channeler may only process requests for a U.S. person (an individual who is a citizen of the U.S. or a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.). A lawful permanent resident is any person not a citizen of the U.S. who is residing in the U.S. under legally recognized and lawfully recorded permanent residence as an immigrant (also known “Permanent Resident Alien,” “Resident Alien Permit Holder,” and “Green Card Holder”).
An FBI-approved Channeler cannot process a request for employment and/or licensing purposes within the United States. This type of request should be coordinated with the appropriate State Identification Bureau (or state police) for the correct procedures.

Once again, FBI Channelers are not authorized to get reports for people other than US Citizens and GC Holders.

FBI has reduced the processing time and is issuing PCC within 2-3 months and still people are thinking about using the incorrect way to get the PCC. That's just ridiculous. Rules are made for a reason. Follow them!

I am curious to know if you got through fine with the channeler process. I have also got it done through the IFSI but really confused if I should send it directly to FBI also.

Again I am appalled and sad that my fellow Indians are knowingly and willingly want to be dishonest to suit their own benefits and get ahead in the race. i left India because of this mentality that is prevalent in the whole country and now I see Indians bringing the same attitude to US, Europe, Canada wherever we go. Sad that instead of trying to improve India we are bringing our corrupt ways wherever we go. I face issues in US with many fellow Indians because of this mentality to cheat, lie, disrespect and abuse rules, people and processes etc. Until we recognize (which I don't see happening because the corruption has penetrated the country to the core) the importance of honesty, we will never be able to make India great.
