"Decision Made" on eCAS and "Final decision" Not Started on myCiC

Hello everyone,

I am a little confused. I am sponsoring my wife, we submitted our application on Nov 15th, 2016. We applied through outland route (visa office is in Ukraine)

On Dec 2nd, I received an email: "you have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor"

I decided to check eCAS today and "Permanent Residence Application Status" "Decision made". When I click on details I get this:

We received your application for permanent residence on November 15, 2016.
We started processing your application on December 13, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

I got excited and decided to register mycic account. I linked my application and unfortunately my cic is showing this:

Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility Review in Progress
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed In Progress
Final decision Not Started

Could it be that there is a lag and mycic will be updated later? Or am I missing something. I know that the only way to know for sure is to wait for letter in mail. But anxiety to know is killing us Any good information or similar experiences are much appreciated.

As of late, ECAS is updating first for people and MyCIC is updating a couple weeks later.

this "Decision made" is for sponsorship. Not for PR application.
This means that your sponsorship has been approved and your application has been sent to visa office for further process.

Respectfully disagree. The background check being in progress is an indication that the application is nearing the point of a final decision. They already had sponsor approval. The PA side is now showing decision made.

Yes you are right. Did not looked at that.

I checked status of application 3 days ago, it was still showing as in progress or processing, do not remember exactly what. Today is the first time that I saw "decision made"

I mean, until you get the PPR, you won't know for sure. But if they haven't requested more documents, or an interview, it's not very likely that it wouldn't be a positive decision.

What is a reasonable wait time for this? Does the letter have to come all the way from Ukraine? (my wife lives with me in Canada)

assuming the applicant provided an email address in the application, they receive the passport request by email.

dima20d, you should check out the November applicant page and add you info to the spreadsheet! I'm sure other November applicants would love to see your progress and may have similar lines on ecas and MyCIC! What's your visa office?

That's totally fine. I got DM on ECAS on jan 23rd but the update on MyCIC was mad eonly on feb 1st, a day after they received photos they asked in PPR email.

MyCic status changed 2-3 days later. We received our passport instructions via email.

I got AOR in the first week and cleared medicals too. But i can't see the details still on ECAS. i gave correct UCI/File no, surname, dob[yyyy/mm/dd] etc... is ECAS working or is it something else?
