India adhar card. Is it national id number?Should i submit ir not?

Hi all
I am applying for spouse sponsership. And while filling form i came across to know that in 1 form they ask for national ID. So is adhar card is our national ID document?Do i need to submit our(sponsor + main applicant) adhar card?

No it is not national ID.

Wherever asked for national ID, leave it blank or write not applicable.

India doesn't have a national ID, at least not in the context CIC talks about.

Then what aadhar card is for? Income tax account is linked to AC, go anywhere and they ask for aadhar card as ID proof, govt. is emphasising to get aadhar card. Even I am putting aadhar card number as national id number.

A national identity card is like a social security card, it has a chip with all ur details and an expiry date. Aadhaar is not a national identity card.

Go to a Aadhaar centre and fill up a form to get ur mobile no updated.
