I was surprise to get a refusal email from avo today instead of ppr and given option to appeal.
I ll start my appeal proceedings Thursday bcos reason the office gave don't make sense to me, saying my relationship and marriage not genuine, can you imagine, almost 14 months.
I will update u as we progress in the appeal.

i have a question regarding background check and security check for ex military service, does it take much longer then those who didn't do military service ?
also i did visit some countries as tourist 3 countries and each country was a stay for less than 8 days .. do they do background check on those countries as well ?

I am a June 2016 applicant. I was approved sponsor on Aug 11, 2016 and file transferred to Accra and began processing Aug 24, 2016. Ordered notes Jan 12, and received them Feb 10, 2017. There does not seem to be a BF date, but a Due date is August 9, 2017.I also noticed my husband file location is REGISTRY. According to your notes that means it is sitting somewhere in the IRCC databank waiting to be pulled up again. The paper file is not yet assigned to anyone at this time. Will they be prompted by the Due date to look at our file? If not ,when? Eligibility/Security/Criminality all marked as NOT Started.

Can the due date change at anytime? If so what will prompt the due date change? How do I know Criminal/Background checks are even being performed if nothing is being started. I believe you made mention that not started can mean a good thing and that there is no red flag or it can simply mean just that " Nothing has been started". Im heartbroken because the way i see it, our application has been sitting there untouched for about 6 months now. It shouldn't take us this long, especially when we have a straightforward application, no red flags this far, no review needed or required, and all feeds paid in full.

What are your thoughts please.

We are all on the same boat , i am an applicant since November 2015 and my application is pending in the background check stage since August , yet i am straight forward and all i am a clean person with no bad history..don't know why its taking so long.

I was reading ur posts from this forum and prev. ones as well. Just need some information on what stage I'm at now and how long it will take to get ppr?

My husband received this today. I am sponsoring him. He was in canada before and over stayed his vist. Is this normal?

For the additional family information form he left the siblings section blank as he has 10 siblings and doesn't know all of there information... would that be a problem to only provide what he knows? Will they reject him because he didn't provide it in the first place?

I'm so deeply sad to hear that your sponsorship was refused!! Do they provide any other reason other than saying they think you are not genuine. Did you provide sufficient evidence to show that your relationship is on going? So scary! I am positive that you will get good news after your appeal, I have seen family members get their sponsorship approved after appeal, it just took a lot of persistence and time. I hope you get approved after the first appeal, good luck!
